Anthurium sp. nov DF
Anthurium sp. nov DF
• Listing is for well-rooted & established divisions of my Anthurium sp. nov DF
• Anthurium sp. nov DF derives its placeholder name from Dewey Fisk, a renowned grower that passed away in 2019 & kept this particular plant very close; between his reported reluctance to share this species & poor record keeping later in life, little detailed information is known about this plant. Dewey received two “dark-form portillae” (sp. nov DF) from another private collector that reportedly collected them in the lowlands of Northern Ecuador in the early 1990’s. These two were the only specimens of this plant ever collected or even recorded from the wild. It has been shown to make gorgeous hybrids, consistently instilling its blue-black texture & wide sinus into its offspring. The unique shape & color is fascinating and striking, an absolute standout in the Anthurium world.
